This section provides general information about nursing facilities and their business associates that are members of WHCA as well as some basic statistical data concerning the long term care industry in Wisconsin. WHCA member nursing facilities are organized into twelve distinct districts throughout the state. Each district is represented on the WHCA Board of Directors by an officer and a designated representative. District members meet monthly to discuss current issues and concerns impacting their locale. WHCA's Associate Members are the primary vendors serving the regular member facilities. They deal in all aspects of long term care services and supplies.
Wisconsin's long term care industry is a major part of the state's economy. Its nearly 450 nursing facilities employ over 60,000 people and serve almost 45,000 residents. Annual cost of care approaches nearly $2.0 billion.
